9 Places to Eat in Agadir/Taghazout, Morocco

Agadir and Taghazout both had amazing restaurants and cafes for super affordable prices. If you are planning a trip to Morocco, eating out 3 times a day won’t cost more than €20 per person, or even less.

If you are a fussy eater like me, or an extremely adventurous eater like my boyfriend, there are honestly so many places to pick from, but you have to be looking in the right areas. A lot of the restaurants that we enjoyed in Agadir were down by the beach but other than that there wasn’t a large selection to choose from elsewhere.

However, in Taghazout it was hard to find a restaurant that wasn’t good. So, in this blog I will be talking about the top places to eat in Agadir and Taghazout.

Agadir ’22

Agadir

Starting off with Agadir we did have an AirBnB with a fully equipped kitchen but we still ate out for a lot of this trip.

For breakfast, we only went to one place but it was good. It is called ‘Freshmania’ and although it is a little outside the main city centre it was worth it. We got a breakfast platter each which included pancakes, an omelette, a granola bowl, fruit and coffee/tea. This was €6 (60 dirhams) per person and it kept us full for the majority of the day until dinner, only having a snack inbetween.

At lunch time we only had a snack here and there as we were constantly hopping from place to place trying to see as much of the city as we could, so we usually went into the local supermarket (Carrerfour is the best) and stocked up on snacks for during the day time.

For dinner we went out all 3 nights we were there, starting with a place along the beach called ‘Le Nil Bleu.’ We were so hungry when we decided on this place that we would have eaten anything. This restaurant didn’t specialise in a specific cuisine, you could really get anything here. I would rate the food here as just average but if you’re looking for cheap and cheerful this is your place. I got pizza which was nice but nothing special that cost €5 (50 dirhams) and my boyfriend got pizza and spaghetti bolognese which cost €10 (100 dirhams). Although I wouldn’t be rushing back here, the atmosphere was good with live entertainment and the staff were so lovely.

Le Nil Bleu, Agadir

On our second night we went to an Asian restaurant called ‘Jade.’ Although this was a little more expensive than other places, it was worth the money. The aesthetic of the restaurant was gorgeous and the outside area had a beautiful view of the ocean. I got the general tso chicken which came with rice and vegetables (140 dirhams or €14) and my boyfriend had the Phad Thai (140 dirhams or €14). Although these prices are still really cheap for dinner, in Morocco this is a bit more expensive than other places.

Jade, Agadir

Finally, we wanted to try some authentic Moroccan food before we left Agadir, so we went to a place called ‘Saykouk.’ This is located directly across from the cities Carrerfour shop and although the location is not great the restaurant itself is really cool. We sat on the rooftop terrace and even though the views are of the local supermarket it still has a really nice vibe to it. I got the brochettes de poulet, which essentially were chicken skewers that were served with chips and rice (45 dirhams or €4.50). My boyfriend got the Tajine poulet oux olives, which is a famous Moroccan dish that is similar to a stew (45 dirhams or €4.50).

Taghazout

Moving on to Taghazout we had such an amazing experience with restaurants here. They have some of the best smoothie bowls I have ever had.

For breakfast I recommend going to the ‘Teapot Café’ . We got such amazing Acai bowls here, which were huge. I got a peanut butter smoothie along with my breakfast which was to die for. My boyfriend also got eggs benedict which he said was great too. Including two coffees, the bill totaled to €26 for the two of us (260 dirhams).

Saykouk, Agadir

Another place we went for breakfast was the ‘Windy Bay’. This restaurant is located right on the water and has the most beautiful views. It is also a great spot to watch the surfers. I got another Acai bowl while I was here and although it wasn’t as good as the one I got at the Teapot Cafe, I still thought it was pretty good. I also had a coffee with my breakfast and the total for the two was €8 or 80 dirhams.

We also went to the ‘Windy Bay’ for dinner one of the nights we were in Taghazout and we loved it. I had pizza, it was so good and it only cost €5 or 50 dirhams. My boyfriend ordered the chicken and mushroom pasta and although the portion wasn’t big, he still really enjoyed it. His meal cost €6.50 or 65 dirhams.

Other dinner/lunch spots we went to include the ‘World of Waves’ restaurant. This serves breakfast, dinner and lunch. On our first day we got lunch here. I got the chicken burger which was served with fries, it cost €6.50 or 65 dirhams. On the same day my boyfriend got an omelette and a B.L.T which cost €10 or 100 dirhams altogether. We also got the green smoothie here, which was so yummy and a great way to get some fruit and veggies in while travelling.

World of Waves, Taghazout

We also decided to go to this restaurant for dinner one night, where we both got chicken curry, this was €7.50 or 75 dirhams each. Overall, this restaurant is a must if you are visiting Taghazout, from the location to the aesthetic it is a beautiful place to dine. It also has a space that you can work from and grab a coffee. Their coffee is really good.

We stopped into ‘Le Spot’ for lunch after surfing and to be honest I wouldn’t go back here. The place itself isn’t that nice and the food wasn’t great. However, once again if you are looking for somewhere cheap their pizza’s are only €5 or 50 dirhams.

For coffee I would recommend going to the ‘Red Clay Café.’ This place serves a fully vegan menu and has a beautiful set up. We found this place on our last day by chance and we now regret not having tried their food because it looked amazing. This would also be a really cool cafe to get some work done in and I can assure you that the coffee here is good.
